Funding & Grant Writing Overview
Funding & Grant Writing Resources
The Health and Learning Resource Center at RMC Health is a Funding Information Network partner of the Foundation Center. As a member of this nationwide network of libraries, RMC Health provides visitors with free public access to grants directories, books on fundraising and nonprofit management, and the Foundation Center’s electronic databases.
To identify grant opportunities, select from our databases for Grants, Nonprofits, & Management. Several of these databases will require you to be physically in the library.
You may also search our library catalog for resources that are part of our Nonprofit Business & Development collection. Assistance on using library resources related to foundations and grants is available during business hours.
For anyone whose work is supported by grant funding, the pressure to secure additional funding to continue the work you are doing looms constantly overhead. As I learned while interviewing Safe Schools/Healthy Students (SS/HS) grantees with colleagues for Stories of Sustainability, even the strongest grant models---- those that plan for sustainability from day one by establishing partnerships and building capacity---- may still benefit from funding dollars as their grant funding comes to an ends or to jump-start new initiatives.
A go-to source for data and information related to black male achievement, BMAfunders.org features a variety of resources, including an interactive mapping tool with funding data, a timeline of philanthropic milestones in the field, a toolkit for assessing project outcomes, a comprehensive collection of research reports, descriptive case studies of work on the ground, and multi-media content.
